Carl Bagley PhD FRSA is professor of educational sociology and head of the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work at Queen’s University Belfast in the United Kingdom. He has an extensive record of undertaking externally-funded research as principal investigator and published over 70 journal articles and co-authored two books and co-edited four in the fields of educational policy ethnography and critical arts-based research. His co-authored book (with Ricardo Castro-Salazar), Navigating Borders: Critical Race Theory Research and Counter History of Undocumented Americans, was the recipient of a commendation from the International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry for its contribution to social justice research. He is co-editor of the 2018 publication, The Wiley Handbook of Educational Ethnography, and deputy editor of the journal, Ethnography and Education.
